Southwest ST3 Surgical Bootcamp Programme

October 12, 13th & 14th based at the BRI Education Centre, Vesalius Centre for Clinical Anatomy and the Bristol Medical Simulation Centre .

This is a mandatory part of your training that will involve an intensive three days of essential skills training essential for your development as a surgical specialist trainee.  The three day course will take place in Bristol and will be a simulation rich programme including Human Factors Training, Non-Technical Skills for Surgeon, Region Specific Information and a Cadaveric Training Day with Consultant Faculty (more details at https://studentshare.net/chemistry). The course is free and all ST3s must attend and therefore apply for study leave asap

The 8th Annual ALS Laparoscopic Training Day 30th October MPH – Free event and registration required
This event is being supported by the HESW Trainee Training Team and includes live operating, presentations and a free lunch with expert faculty including Prof Rockall, Prof Toogood and Mr Sedman.  The day will cover TEP and TAPP hernia repairs, Prof Toogoods’ How I Perform a Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy, TME and reverse TME.
The ALS Southwest Trainees Laparoscopic Skill Prize is also on offer for the winner of the knot  tying competition.
